Sugar 101

What is Sugaring?

Sugaring is an ancient middle-eastern hair removal process that uses an all natural paste to remove the hair follicle from the root.  FROM THE ROOT…yes, that’s what I said!!!
There are lots of benefits of sugar versus the other forms of hair removal.  The first is that it’s all natural so it’s wonderful for the person who has sensitive skin and/or the one who is concerned with using products that are chemically based.  Sugar is made in our own kitchen using sugar, water and lemon juice.  That’s it! Unlike wax, the sugar is not hot when applied to the skin so you don’t run the risk of getting burned or even causing hyperpigmentation or scarring on the skin.
Another benefit is because it is pulling the hair from the root, the hair takes longer to grow back and when it does it is softer and less coarse.  Over time the hair grows back more sparse and is depleted with consistent sugaring.  Unlike shaving or waxing, sugaring helps dramatically with in-grown hair because the hair isn’t broken at the surface.
Once you get sweet the other options don’t compete,  you’ve been sugared with LOVE!
